Rhino Peak Challenge

The Rhino Peak Challenge is an annual fundraising event; where 36 invitees climb the 3,056m Rhino Peak in the Southern Drakensberg to raise funds for the event’s three beneficiaries: WildlifeACT, Endangered Wildlife Trust and Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife.

I started working with Rhino Peak Challenge in June 2019 and my responsibilities include social media, paid media, email marketing, event coverage. I ‘m also the media liaison for all the event’s stakeholders; and a key responsibility is to ensure that all the participants and beneficiaries has content and material to market the event.

In 2017 the event raised R303,788 and in 2018 it raised R383,938. I’m incredibly proud that in 2019 the event raised R834,000; more than double than the year before. In 2020, despite it being a year where everyone was hard hit by Covid-19, the event still raised a record amount of R907,201!
