Hobbit Trail Runs

The Hobbit Trail Runs is an event that takes place in autumn each year. The event is known for the two-day, 90km event which covers the length of the 5-day Amathole Hiking Trail. Hobbit also has a 42km, 15km and 5km trail races.

I worked with Hobbit from February - June 2021.. My responsibilities included social media, paid media, email marketing.

When I took on the account, Hobbit hardly had any social media presence. It was being marketed from the event organiser’s social media accounts. It was an incredibly rewarding experience to build and grow the Hobbit social media presence, and doing it in a way that positioned the race well in the trail running space in South Africa.

I also oversaw the opening of entries, and did the live coverage of the 2021 event, which took place 30 April - 1 May 2021.
